Buying

The most important dimension is width, not length. A wider board (33"–35") is more stable and forgiving — ideal for beginners, yoga, and paddling with pets or kids.

For length, most adult riders do well on a 10'6"–11'6" all-around board. Taller or heavier riders over 90kg should look at the longer end of that range for better glide and stability.

Not sure? Visit our Paddle Board Size Guide or compare models in our SUP comparison chart.

For recreational paddling — flatwater, yoga, touring, paddling with dogs or kids — a high-quality inflatable at 15 PSI performs comparably to a hard board in terms of rigidity and stability.

Where hard boards have a genuine edge: high-performance surfing and racing, where hull shape and stiffness at speed matter. For most paddlers, the portability and storage advantages of inflatables are hard to argue against. You can also compare ABYSUP board models by size, payload and use case.

We don't offer in-person demos, but our 30-day return policy means you can try your board on the water risk-free.

If you're genuinely undecided between two models, contact us with your height, weight, and intended use — we'll tell you honestly which one fits better.

Weight limits vary by model — most ABYSUP boards are rated between 120kg and 160kg. The specific limit is listed on each product page.

For the best experience, aim to use the board at no more than 80% of the rated capacity. A board near its maximum sits lower in the water and requires more effort to paddle.

If you're paddling with a child or a dog, add their weight to yours when selecting a board. For heavier riders or extra gear, start with our XL stability paddle boards.

Setup & Use

With an electric pump: 8–10 minutes to reach 15 PSI.

With the included dual-action hand pump: 15–20 minutes. If you plan to paddle regularly, an electric SUP pump is worth the investment — it saves time every single session.

15 PSI is the recommended pressure for all ABYSUP boards. At this pressure the board feels completely rigid underfoot — if it flexes when you stand on it, it needs more air.

Do not exceed 18 PSI — this is the maximum rated pressure. Overinflating in direct sunlight can cause air pressure to rise beyond the safe limit as the temperature increases. A pump with a pressure gauge, such as our SUP pump options, makes this easier to control.

All ABYSUP boards use a click-lock fin system — slide the fin into the fin box from the front, push down until you hear a click, and it is locked in place.

No tools required. The fin can be removed and reattached in under 30 seconds. Always check that the fin is fully locked before getting on the water. You can learn more on our SUP fins page.

Yes — all ABYSUP boards are built with UV-stabilised PVC and saltwater-safe hardware. Ocean, lake, river, and pool use are all fine.

For beginners in ocean conditions: stay in calm, protected bays away from surf zones and strong currents until you are confident with basic steering and balance. Always use a suitable SUP leash, and rinse your board with fresh water after every salt water session.

Care & Storage

Rinse with fresh water after every session — especially after salt water or chlorine pool use. A 30-second hose-down removes residue before it has time to degrade the PVC surface.

For stubborn marks on the EVA deck, a soft brush with mild soap works well. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents — they damage the EVA surface over time.

Let the board dry fully before rolling it for storage. Rolling a damp board traps moisture and promotes surface degradation over the off-season. A proper SUP backpack also helps protect the board during transport and storage.

For short-term storage between sessions: partially deflated or fully inflated in a shaded spot is fine. Avoid leaving a fully inflated board in direct sunlight for extended periods — heat causes air pressure to rise inside the board.

For end-of-season or long-term storage: deflate completely, rinse, dry thoroughly, roll loosely, and store in the carry bag away from direct UV. A garage, closet, or equipment locker is ideal. See our SUP backpack options if you need a stronger travel and storage bag.

Every ABYSUP board comes with a PVC repair patch kit. For small punctures under 5mm: deflate the board completely, clean the area around the puncture, apply the patch with even pressure, and leave it to cure for at least 24 hours before reinflating.

To find a slow leak: inflate the board, apply soapy water around the valve and seams, and look for bubbling. Most slow leaks are at the valve — tightening the valve core with the included tool resolves this in most cases. For more repair tools, see the ABY SUP repair kit.

With regular use and basic maintenance — fresh water rinse after salt exposure, proper storage out of UV — an ABYSUP board will hold up for 5+ years without structural issues.

The EVA deck pad typically shows visible wear before the PVC shell does. Surface wear on the EVA does not affect performance — it is cosmetic. Keeping a repair kit and storing the board in a proper SUP backpack can help extend its usable life.

Accessories

Every ABYSUP board ships as a complete kit: adjustable SUP paddle, dual-action hand pump with pressure gauge, coiled leash, centre fin, repair patch kit, and carry bag.

Everything you need for your first session is in the bag. The only add-on we recommend from the start is an electric pump — the hand pump works fine but takes longer.

The standard formula: your height plus 20–25cm. So a 175cm paddler typically uses a paddle set to 195–200cm.

For yoga and fitness paddling, go slightly shorter — closer to your height plus 15cm — for better control during poses and movements. All ABYSUP paddles are adjustable across a wide range, so one paddle covers most riders in a household.

Yes — always wear a SUP leash when paddling on open water. If you fall off, the leash keeps the board within reach instead of drifting away faster than you can swim.

Exception: in fast-moving river water, a leash can be a safety hazard if the board gets caught in current. For river paddling, use a quick-release belt leash instead of an ankle leash.

Yes — all ABYSUP boards have D-rings positioned for kayak seat attachment. A kayak conversion seat clips onto the front and rear D-rings and lets you paddle seated with a double-blade kayak paddle.

Kayak conversion seats are available as an add-on accessory. It is one of the most useful ways to extend the versatility of your board — especially for longer touring sessions or paddling with young children. If you are not sure whether your board is compatible, contact us before ordering.

Returns & Warranty

We offer a 30-day return window from the date of delivery. The board can be used — you do not need to return it unused to be eligible.

To start a return, contact us with your order number and the reason for the return. We will send you a prepaid return label and process your refund within 7 business days of receiving the board back.

All ABYSUP boards carry a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects — seam failures, valve defects, delamination of the EVA deck pad, and any structural issue that occurs under normal use conditions.

The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, sharp object punctures, overinflation above the maximum rated PSI, or cosmetic wear from regular use. You can review the full ABYSUP warranty policy for more details.

If your board develops an issue within the warranty period, contact us with photos and we will assess it and either replace or repair at no charge.

Take photos of the damage and the packaging before opening anything further, then contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

Transit damage is rare but it does happen. We will arrange a replacement shipment or a full refund — whichever you prefer — at no cost to you. Photos of the damage help us file a claim with the carrier.

Yes — we ship to the US, Canada, the UK, EU countries, and Australia. If your country is not listed at checkout, contact us and we will check whether we can fulfil your order.

International orders may be subject to import duties and taxes charged by your local customs authority — these are not included in the product price and are the responsibility of the buyer.

The board is deflated, rolled, and packed into the carry bag, which is then placed inside a reinforced outer carton with foam padding around the accessories.

The packaged carton for a standard 10'6" board is approximately 90 × 38 × 30cm at around 12–14kg — within standard courier dimensions and deliverable to most residential addresses without special equipment. Our SUP backpacks are designed to help protect the board and accessories during transport.
